  10. How do you move around on the screen?                                       
  11.                                                                             
  12.         Move from one command to the next with the mouse, the Tab           
  13.         key, the arrow keys, or by typing the highlighted letter            
  14.         of each command. Back out one command level by pressing             
  15.         the ESCape key or F10.

  17. Is there any Help in the program?                                           
  18.                                                                             
  19.         Yes, hold the Alt key down for a list of Hotkeys.  These            
  20.         will get you to Notepad, Save, Quit, and TagList with one           
  21.         key stroke. In Description, Hardware or Notepad you can             
  22.         press the F1 key to display a list of editor commands for           
  23.         manipulating text. Also, the message box on the bottom of           
  24.         the screen has commands for the specific screen you are             
  25.         on.

  27. Do the messages on the bottom of the screen have to display?

  29.         The message box is controlled by the Help Level selection           
  30.         under MiscStuff.  You can turn it ON/OFF at will. When              
  31.         the Help Level is turned off, the Date and Time will                
  32.         display in the message box.

  34. How do I use File Finder?                                                   
  35.                                                                             
  36.         File Finder allows you to bring text files into Notepad,            
  37.         Description and Hardware.  In the File Finder window                
  38.         enter *.* to display a list of files in the directory you           
  39.         are logged on with. If you want a different directory,              
  40.         have the highlighted bar on the '..' at the top of the              
  41.         file list and press enter. This will move up one                    
  42.         directory level.  You can then select another directory             
  43.         or select a file. If you know the directory string to a             
  44.         text file, you can enter it is the File Finder window and           
  45.         CatMan will go right to it.

  47. How do I print a listing.                                                   
  48.                                                                             
  49.         To print a listing by file name follow these steps: from            
  50.         Listings, select Export in the Export windows, select any           
  51.         of the options, Program Name, File Name, Label Name, or             
  52.         Search List enter the file name for the report                      
  53.                                                                             
  54.         CatMan displays all the file names as it writes them to             
  55.         the text file. When completed, a message appears on                 
  56.         screen, press any key to clear the message.  You may now            
  57.         send that file to your printer.  If you select the                  
  58.         SearchList option, you must have run a SearchList first             
  59.         or an error message appears indicating the Search List is           
  60.         empty.

  62. How do I enter a file without Bulk Load?                                    
  63.                                                                             
  64.         Under Files on the top menu bar, select New.  Press 'f'             
  65.         to enter the File Name section, 'h' to enter the Hardware           
  66.         section, and 'd' the Description. When completed, press             
  67.         's' to Save the information. The only required items are            
  68.         the file name and package name fields.

  70. What is the Package Name?                                                   
  71.                                                                             
  72.         When you walk into a store and ask the clerk for a                  
  73.         software package, you ask for Word, or Windows, or                  
  74.         CatMan-DO!. That is the Package Name.  It is used to                
  75.         identify your files.  When using the Bulk Load options,             
  76.         CatMan enters the file name for the package name. When              
  77.         entering files individually, you can choose what to enter           
  78.         for package name.

  80. How do I use Automatic Mode in Bulk Load?                                   
  81.                                                                             
  82.         Choose a drive to read with Select Drive (A: or B:).                
  83.         Place a diskette in the selected drive, select Automatic            
  84.         mode, and enter the label name when requested. CatMan               
  85.         loads the database with information for all the files on            
  86.         the diskette.  Using Automatic Bulk Load, CatMan keeps              
  87.         track of the last 10 label names entered.  You are asked            
  88.         in you want to duplicate the label name.

  90. What is the fastest way to enter files?

  92.         Automatic Mode under Bulk Load is the quickest method to            
  93.         enter files. For instructions, see the question on how to           
  94.         use Automatic Bulk Load.

  96. How do I use Manual Mode in Bulk Load?                                      
  97.                                                                             
  98.         There are four steps for Manual Mode, the same four items           
  99.         on the Manual Mode menu. First, Grab All Files reads all            
  100.         the files on the diskette in the selected drive.  Second,           
  101.         Pick & Choose allows you to review the list of files                
  102.         found on the diskette and mark which files you want in              
  103.         the database (Yes/No) using the insert and delete keys.             
  104.         Third, Edit Label Name allows you to enter the label you            
  105.         want in the database for the selected files. The label              
  106.         name can not be blank. Fourth, Load Database completes              
  107.         the process.

  109. How do I change information once it is entered?                             
  110.                                                                             
  111.         Change information to a file under Files on the main                
  112.         menu, Alter, Alterations. You can not change File Name              
  113.         for items that have been bulk loaded. The Time Stamp is             
  114.         not alterable for any entry.

  116. What is the difference between File Name, Package Name and Label?           
  117.                                                                             
  118.         File Name is the name you see when you do a directory of            
  119.         the diskette.  Package Name is the name you would use to            
  120.         buy the software in the store. Label is what is on the              
  121.         diskette label, either your own label or a pre-printed              
  122.         label. Bulk Load Automatic Mode enters the file name in             
  123.         the Package Name since it can not determine the software            
  124.         name.
